God has better ideas than I do

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20-21)

Have you ever been trying to work and then caught yourself daydreaming (for me this could be 20 or 30 or 40 minutes later) about something perfect? Like the perfect day with the perfect friends and perfect conversations, or reliving a situation that maybe wasn’t so perfect and trying to change it over and over until it is just the way you want. If only life was a nice daydream, right? Wrong.

No matter what I dream up, or how much effort I put into each detail of these scenarios, God has a better plan in mind. I love this verse because it reminds me that even when I think I know best, my ideas  pale in comparison to the glorious plan God has. And over and over, this has proved true in my life. Jobs I “should’ve” taken, opportunities I “should’ve” pursued, or things I “shouldn’t” have let go so easily seem to all have worked out just the way I thought they never would, just the way I could have never foreseen. I think sometimes God likes to chuckle at us as we plan and scheme and think our way through life, attempting to control even the smallest situations. Our minds, although in the image of God, are not His mind. He deserves the glory because it’s His perfect plan that will come to fruition, not my daydreams. And thankfully, His ideas are so so much better than mine.

Awesome post. its exactly what i needed to hear stace…its something i need to keep in mind, especially through rough times! keep doin good things, God Bless 🙂
