Who can stop God?

7 02 2011

“The Lord of Heaven’s Armies has sworn this oath:   ‘It will all happen as I have planned. It will be as I have decided.” (Isaiah 14:24)

“But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.” (Psalm 33:11)

Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails. (Proverbs 19:21)

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)

“In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.” (Ephesians 1:11-12)

There’s a plan. And in that plan, I trust. I hope. I live. I do not worry about tomorrow, because God has it already made. It’s perfect, just exactly what He wants for me, exactly how I fit into His bigger plan, set in motion before time began, before there were stars in the sky or animals to cover the earth, God had a plan. And He knew me. Over and over throughout the Bible, this plan leads the way for Moses, Abraham, Paul, Jesus, and everyone else mentioned or not. We all have a plan. I trust God that this plan is good, it’s not meant to make me happy, but it will make me holy. I hope that the future is in His hands, that God isn’t finished with me yet. And I live, daily, in the knowledge that He has my life in His grasp, that God is chuckling at me, deep belly laughs as I try to figure it out on my own, and smiling down as He places my one foot in front of the other, still leading me, ever so slowly on the path towards a better tomorrow, a brighter future and a live lived completely for Him.

In His love,
