God has it all under control

7 09 2010

THEREFORE WE DO NOT LOSE HEART. FOR OUR LIGHT AND MOMENTARY TROUBLES ARE ACHIEVING FOR US AN ETERNAL GLORY THAT FAR OUTWEIGHS THEM ALL. SO WE FIX OUR EYES NOT ON WHAT IS SEEN, BUT WHAT IS UNSEEN. FOR WHAT IS SEEN IS TEMPORARY, BUT WHAT IS UNSEEN IS ETERNAL. ( 2 CORINTHIANS 4:16-18 )

Wow! We serve such a mighty Lord! Every day, just as i begin to worry that I made a mistake or God has led me astray, I am reassured that I am exactly where He wants me. This week, I was very concerned about my decision to move to San Diego. I love my job, but for a girl who is used to knowing everyone, knowing about 5 people in a city of 1.3 million is a whole new ball game. But the Lord has been so faithful and this weekend, not only have I met some incredible people, but I have also found rest in the Lord alone. I realized that instead of spending time focused on my “momentary trouble,” I can use this time of rest to focus on my relationship with God. It has been great! I have been reading the book “Forgotten God” by Francis Chan and was completely reaffirmed by God that I am right where he led me.

This week, I will continue to fix my eyes on Him and not on my momentary trouble because what is unseen is eternal and what is seen is fleeting.

In His love,
Stacey
